Course Final Thoughts

My favorite aspect of the class was the freedom to do what I really wanted. My unfavorite part of the class is that many were unwilling to talk, it may seem like I didn't want to, but once the ball is rolling its easy to talk. Sorry that these aren't very lengthy, but I want to enjoy my 4 day summer vacation before my next 2 summer classes start..... fock!

Class 12

I enjoyed seeing everyone's projects. I feel like I would have rather done something else for a project, because I didn't really get to choose what it was about. I really liked the video the one guy made though about getting hit by a car. Other than the final, pretty solid!

A blog entry I like!

http://ayeshasideways1.blogspot.com/2009/12/second-life.html

This is what everyone thinks and this is why I like it. I think we'd all like to live this way, but can't due to the consequences. Which that sucks. We should be able to do what we want all of the time, we can... but don't because we care what others will think or how it will make us look.

I wish everyone could live life this way... it would be a topsy turvy world.

Revamped assignment

______________________________________________________________________

I wanted to do something that kicks ass.

I want to step outside the boundaries of this assignment and do something with photoshop that I've been wanting to do for a long time. I'm over doing assignments that want me to make rectangles different colors and opacities, time to turn on to what I really want to get into.

I know you said in the beginning of the year if that some people have done things like not done an entire assignment to get over a phobia. Well I guess this is me doing that, but not quite the same way. I want to start doing things that make me get better at what I want to do, and this is a pretty big step for me, and I think it looks pretty decent.

This is me as an Avatar character. I put a lot of time into doing this, and just trying to figure out what things I don't know in Photoshop do... I like the result, but I still wish I could do it cleaner. I know that does "art" in photoshop never knows when to stop themselves, so I tried to and I still just want to start from scratch to make it even better... Which I'm sure I will try in the near future.

I can't wait to master this stuff, I know it will take a long time.... but I want to know it all, NOW!

Class 8

I had really been struggling with my online class for 3D animation, the video was really crappy and the program had just awful usability. So I stayed home to finish an assignment that ended up looking like crap anyways.......hhhhhhhhh iupui if you are going to offer online classes that teach a program... try making it so you can actually see what the instructor is doing on the video and not have like 15 second gaps of him moving the mouse and showing where things are

Dark experience

I thought the in the dark experience was really cool because people didn't know what to expect. It was kind of ruined by people that kept walking in, as well as by the crack in the door where light came in and my eyes adjusted I could pretty much see everything. It was still a neat experience though.

I couldn't over come vision for the tunnel. I hate being uncomfortable and one thing I don't like is heat, so I sat there and bitched in my head :)

Reality

Reality to me right now is like the movie with Will Farrell stranger than fiction. I feel like I can just see me walking to class from an aerial view along with everyone else... mindlessly trudging down the sidewalk trying to get to class to get through college and move on to the next project in my life.

Reality only sets in when something major happens... I've been in school for 3 years now and each day is pretty much the same as the next. There aren't a whole lot of significant days of just regular school I can remember that were very important.

Some fears....

  • Being alone
  • Graduating
  • The deep ocean
  • Spiders
  • Death
  • Other people's deaths
  • Safety
  • Today's pool of people for relationships

Opportunity Cost

I decided to hang out with the girl I'm "talking" with before she left for Florida this morning, it was her birthday as well today. So I figure I'd miss class and keep her happy. I like being able to make my own decisions...

Ghoti - made up for the purpose that the English language is too complex.

I was thinking about everyday distractions and one I came across today was a song about addition.

watch it it's very clever

It is a cartoon with a beaver singing about addition.. So I wanted to make up my own little cartoon character to demonstrate how confused he was about how the English language works.

There are always squirrels running around my apartment and I like them so I used a squirrel for my cartoon character. I want to be able to make little cartoons with flash or another program once I learn it, and I think it will be a lot of fun.

Squirrels aren't generally spellers, but mine is. I think he is an okay idea for a character, maybe he needs some clothes or some Kanye West sunglasses... who knows maybe I'll call him Steve.

I was looking through the Wikipedia link and was confused by even reading about the topic, so I decided to use a book with some confusing text in it... not beyond this world.

I enjoyed making my distraction into my project... because our distractions interest us. (for the most part)

Class 5

Once again, had to miss class to due to personal issues.

If you could possibly tell me a "bible dip" out of the book you guys chose from I'd appreciate it if you could respond to this via an OnCourse message.

Thanks a lot!

Inspiration

Inspiration to me is something you see or hear, and it makes you want to go do something immediately.

I really love to play guitar. I think it is really entertaining to me, as well as I like to entertain my friends and family doing it. I recently purchased some new equipment (which I can't believe didn't get stolen that night) and it's really stepped it up for me.

Here is one video that is inspiring to a song I like to play:

Bittersweet Symphony

I really liked this version, so I learned how to play it it exactly like this guy can minus the tambourine, and I have a blast doing it.

Class 4

I was unable to attend due to personal obligations.

2 in 1

-------Bliss-------

During my free time I chose over class, I played a lot of guitar, and I really liked how you made those other images out of your pictures of your land. So I decided to try to make something somewhat similar and I ended up coming up with this picture. I think it was a pretty cool deal, some people can see the woman in it, and some others need to be shown it. But I do like it.

-------Project-------

Describe (or show) the project you want to deal with.

Discuss how you feel about the project you have chosen for this exercise.

  • I feel like I did a pretty awesome job on this project for how long I worked on it this was the first thing I ever made on photoshop for my friend that models, with zero experience, it wasn't bad.

Why did you create this project? (for class, for work, for fun, etc.)

  • Just to practice photoshop for fun.

What do you like about this project?

  • I think it's kind of a unique looking picture for how not skilled I was

What do you dislike about this project?

  • The way I put it together in photoshop

How have you changed since you created this project?

  • I have more knowledge of photoshop, and know better ways to do things.

How could you take a fresh approach to this project?

  • Just start over! I think I am going to.

What made you decide to choose this particular project to re-examine?

  • I just want to show myself how much I have improved in photoshop

I was going to redo it, but I no longer have the original photo, if need be I will do another same type of picture.

Woo!

I think class was awesome today for me. I played a lot of guitar, watched a lot of survivor (while playing guitar) and messed around on photoshop and made a neat little picture kind of like you did out of a picture of my back yard. (it looks like a lady, and blogger won't let it upload for whatever reason..boo)

Currently I am cooking some breakfast at night, and going to enjoy it with an ice cold beer. :)

Peace!

BrEaKiN dA rUlEz!!

My friend despises when I make stupid pictures of him in photoshop just to mess with him, so I decided to make one and tag him on facebook, everyone seems to love the picture except him. He kept un-tagging himself in it, but he left up facebook at my house and I made it his profile picture, win!

Class 2

I really enjoyed seeing everyone's take on what they did with their egg.

It makes me wish I didn't kind of get cheated out of my egg.

I think my favorite one was the music video egg haha.

I also thought it was OK wheeling around in the chairs, it probably would have had more effect on me if there were actually more people in the building, but oh well!

All in all, a pretty interesting class!

The egg and eye

What my egg made me realize about myself:

I got my egg, and it my opinion it was a little dirty, so I immediately took it to the bathroom on the first floor after class and washed it with warm water and soap.

I already knew this part about myself, that I am somewhat of a clean freak. But where it took me next was something I already knew, but hadn't truthfully realized about myself yet.

I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with 4 people. I know my life is a little cluttered and that we always have at least 7 people walking around the apartment, just because we like to hang out with our friends. I had left the egg on the kitchen table on a Bud Light twist off cap, and came back the next day and it was gone. So I had to ask around a little bit and one of my roommates told me his friend threw it out at the fence late at night.

This really made me mad because I had been feeling kind of suffocated because the clutter in my life, I am taking 12 credit hours this semester, 19 next semester, 18 the next semester, and 8 to finish off my final year of school. I just know how much privacy I don't have now and I also know I didn't get the real chance I wanted to do something with the egg, but it did help me come to a realization.

I know my life is so busy right now and I guess I just want a little space. But to top things off, it didn't help that someone robbed our apartment later that night while we were all here sleeping around 3 A.M. So I got my laptop, xbox 360, electric guitar, and my ps2 stolen while I was in my own home. All that aside, I didn't want to get another egg and replace the one Beth gave us. I just wanted to sum up what was happening in my life at the same time that happened to my egg.

Day 1 N385

I had no idea what to expect from this class. But I am glad the way it turned out.

I think it's very exciting the way you described the way the class went, and I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do with (or what I'm going to do to my egg!)

I am very excited for the next class, because I have no idea what is coming!
